So, Melancholia is gorgeous to look at & I found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would, as I have this love/hate thing with Von Trier (as most people do, I think). His operatic levels of shrieking silliness and sadness appeal to the horror movie lover and lover of bad taste and eschewer of all things subtle in me, but his hammering away at obvious symbols/metaphors annoys me, too. But anyway, I enjoyed the experience of watching this & will be writing about it.
